Legacy Stories
“We want our kids to see us support institutions we feel strongly about”

Alicia & Brian KahnOur teenage girls have grown up at Temple Emanu-El — from the days of Tot Shabbat and Training Wheels. Now one of our daughters is actually a TA assisting in teaching in the religious school. In several years when they are grown and gone, we hope that they will always feel rooted here in the traditions of our faith and consider the temple as their spiritual home.

It is also important to us that our kids see that we support institutions and causes that we feel strongly about. That is why we have supported the Endowment’s annual gift program year after year. The Endowment Fund has provided so much support for the children of our congregation – helping to enrich their Jewish education, providing for retreats and wonderful scholarships for summer camping experiences. Both our kids have been benefactors of these experiences, and we’re proud to be able to make these gifts. We hope our example will encourage our girls to one day do the same.
