Legacy Stories
“Their legacy gift is a reflection of what they cared about during their lifetime”

Mollie & Herman GotliebOur parents were incredibly devoted to each other and were really partners throughout their lives, according to their children Marcia Unger and Richard Gotlieb. They both had tremendous faith and loved all the traditional aspects of Judaism, celebrating holidays and coming to Shabbat services each week. Their strong dedication to Temple life was such a part of our lives.

Our mother, Mollie, often used to say how gorgeous our Temple was —and how important it was that it continue to exist. Over the years, they made several gifts to help with the Sanctuary when the needs arose. They answered Rabbi Grafman’s request for a railing and ramp to the Sanctuary, then with a painting for a special anniversary, and most recently with carpeting for the stairs up to the bima. Our parents made it clear that they wanted to continue to help in any way that was needed, even after they were gone, so they established a trust to benefit the Temple. So now, while they are no longer with us, we know that they would feel so good about this fund providing upkeep and preservation of our congregation’s sanctuary. It is a wonderful reflection of what they cared so much about during their lifetime.
