Rabbi Miller, your service at Temple Emanu-El coincided with our arrival. In your last sermon, you talked about your decision to move from California to Birmingham, so I am sure you can imagine how difficult it was for my family to move from USSR to US, with no language, no money or jobs. Only with the help and friendship of a few families, including yours, were we able to make through this difficult time. I thank you and Judi for being a wonderful friend to my family, a great customer for my business and our good neighbor. I am especially grateful for your friendship with my mother, Bella Imas, she always thought very highly of you and Judi.
