Rabbi Miller, we will miss you. We’ll miss your support, your inspiring words, and, above all, your kindness.
With your retirement, our synagogue—and all of Birmingham—has lost a guiding star. At times of national or global crisis, you offered perspective, sharing a cool-headed response to the explosive issues of our day. Over time, you touched thousands of people, yet still made each of us feel that we were important.
During the past decade, we had the privilege of traveling with you and celebrating with you. And, as with so many others at Temple Emanuel, we also mourned with you. You told us that hearts could heal, and helped us see that better times could indeed lie ahead.
We wish you and your family all the best in your travels and adventures through the next phase of your life. But please know that even in your absence, you will continue to inspire us. You have indeed helped to heal the world.
