Dear Jonathan and Judi, Thank you for your years of service to our Temple and our community. Thank you for being our anchor when we needed stability and care. Thank you for providing leadership when it was lacking. Thank you for traveling with us to distant places. Thank you for preparing us to read Torah […]
Our Tribute to Rabbi Jonathan Miller
The following online album is a collection of heartwarming tributes from our congregational family and community to honor the 27 years of dedicated service of Rabbi Jonathan Miller as senior rabbi of Temple Emanu-El, the largest Reform Jewish congregation in the state of Alabama. This album will be shared in a number of formats: on our Temple Emanu-El website, on an interactive recognition wall, and a hard-cover book presented to Rabbi Miller.
We will always be appreciative of the way you came through for us when we needed it. I know you understand what I mean. Thanks so much and wishing you a wonderful life in DC with your wonderful family. We will miss you!!!! Love, Louise & Jim Abroms

He and Judi and their family have beautifully demonstrated how strong bonds of friendship and understanding can be forged between peoples of different faiths, races, backgrounds, and ideologies through open communication and generous hearts. For Jesse and me, the ability to worship and […]
Rabbi Miller, you have touched our family tremendously. I am including a picture from Alex and Emily’s B’nai Mitzvah because of how special you made that day. Your words that day exhibited warmth and understanding of our children and our family. Family and friends from around the country (both Jewish and non-Jewish) commented on what […]
To Jonathan and Judi, Congratulations on your retirement! We know that you will enjoy it, especially including spending more time with the kids. We are so proud to have played a small part in bringing you here to Birmingham and have been privileged to know both of you over all of these years. You have […]
